Ascamm Private Foundation

The Ascamm Private Foundation, located near Barcelona (Spain),  has been a reference Industrial Technological Centre within Europe for twenty-five years and our vision is the production of our own technology aimed at obtaining high added-value products and the provision of solutions that enable company strategy and innovation management improvement.

Our mission is to generate value in our environment through applied R+D, innovation and intensive knowledge services orientated towards improvements in competitiveness and business efficiency in widely differing sectors, such as transport (automotive, including electrical, railway and aeronautics mobility), health (medical instrumentation, equipment and TIC applications), construction, industrial equipment and energy, electrical appliances and consumer electronics, packaging, together with plastic and metal transformation.

The two basic objectives deriving from this mission are: to generate first level technological knowledge in the production technologies areas; and to transfer this knowledge to our industrial environment in an efficient manner and facilitate its operation by the industrial fabric.

Ascamm will provide knowledge and experience training, e-learning platforms, designing and developing vocational training courses for manufacturing sector, writing and publishing technical content and technical/copy editing. The experience in other training European projects will ensure that legal aspects of compiling a training course are covered. Ascamm will carry out the project management activities as Project Coordinator.

Associazione Tecnica dell’Automobile (ATA)

Associazione Tecnica dell’Automobile’s objectives are to promote and disseminate the technical – scientific & automotive culture, focusing on innovative aspects of industrial and academic research and development; to communicate the new developments in the automotive industry, also stimulating the interests of public research; to develop the exchange of information amongst Members; to cooperate with the Technical Societies of other Countries; to assist with the training of young graduates in scientific and automotive disciplines; and to support the transfer of technological know-how from vehicle manufacturers to small and medium size suppliers industries.

The members of the association are about 3,000: technicians, researchers, students and academic people. More than 150 are Collective Members, representative of several important industries of the automotive sector.

In 1948, ATA was one of the founders of FISITA (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Ingénieurs des Techniques de l’Automobile), to which it is still currently federated. In 1984 ATA was one of the founders of EAEC (European Automobile Engineers Cooperation) and actively cooperates with her.

Collaboration with US SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and JSAE (Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan) occurs for particular events.

ATA edits its own magazine, titled “Ingegneria dell’Autoveicolo” (Engineering of Automobiles). The target is to inform the industry on innovation, scenarios and peculiar investigations in the automotive field.

ATA develops particular attention to young students to promote and strengthen the link between University and Industrial Community. The target is also to supply a productive tool to integrate their personal training. Since 1986 ATA cooperates with the main Italian Universities in activities dealing with training of engineering students and post-graduates.

Since February 2010 it has been constituted the “Associazione Tecnica dell’Automobile Consulting & Solutions – S.r.L. dealing with Projects and commercial activities.

Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne

The EPFL is one of the two federal technical universities in Switzerland.  EPFL has three main activity areas: Education; Research; and Technology Transfer.  The project touches all these three, education directly, but also the research side in that research results need to be brought out as well as new technologies.

LICP is the CAD/CAM laboratory of EPFL and is part of the Faculty for Science and Technology of Engineering.   LICP has a wide range of activities covering informational aspects of the whole product lifecycle from design through manufacturing, to the use phase and to the end-of-life of products.  We are constantly involved in development and delivery of teaching materials in various aspects as well as the transfer of research topics into teaching.

Norauto S.A.

Norauto was created in France in 1970. Our core business involves providing solutions for motor vehicle maintenance, accessories, sales and the multi brand repair.

Universitaet Duisburg-Essen

The University Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is one of the ten largest German universities with approximately 30,000 enrolled students and 3,400 academic and non-academic staff members. With regard to projects funded by the European Commission, it should be highlighted that the UDE has created a powerful infrastructure in the form of the so-called Science Support Centre for the initiation, administrative supervision and clearing of projects.

The Department of Transport Systems and Logistics (TUL) is situated at the campus in Duisburg. Belonging to the Faculty of Engineering and to the interdisciplinary ‘Centre for Logistics and Traffic’, the department covers a wide range of research activities around logistics, just as the interdisciplinary nature of logistics itself indicates. The core research competencies and interests of the department include the development of innovative technical systems, logistics in urban systems, future internet applications in logistics, global supply chain optimization, sustainable and green logistics, modelling of multi-modal transportation chains and, last but not least, the combination of e-mobility and logistics.

The TUL department is one of the major departments of the UDE participating in the prestigious e-mobility project “ColognE-mobil”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. Moreover, there exist different project approaches within the TUL department associated with e-mobility and logistics, currently being dealt with as Ph.D. theses at the department, which range from the ‘analysis of hazardous incidents (e.g. breakdowns, accidents, disturbances) during the use of electric vehicles/cars and development of suitable strategies for maintenance and repair’ over the ‘analysis of battery life-cycles including sourcing, production, disposal and recycling issues’ to the ‘consideration of electric vehicles/cars for the fleet management of different types of companies’.

Virtual Product Development. The development of technical products is supported by a variety of IT systems. The merging of multiple isolated applications across departmental and process boundaries in a central product model provides the basis for the implementation of Product Lifecycle Management Methods (PLM) and is thus the basis for the optimization of product development processes.

The subject area “Virtual Product Development” at University Duisburg-Essen deals with various aspects of conception and implementation of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management). The areas of computer aided design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Product Data Management (PDM) are in the centre of attention. Application programming plays a central role for system integration and represents a further focus of our activities. For teaching and research current systems from all mentioned areas are available.
